The Acala, Nusa Lembongan, Bali, Indonesia
When it comes to aesthetics, mood and style there is something truly unique about Balinese design.
There is a certain natural harmony and character that flows through many of the bars, restaurants and hotels that you see in Bali and The Acala Shri Sedana is no exception. It oozes cool, chic, contemporary class and it’s one of those places that you feel great to be in. It puts a big grin on your face and leaves you wanting more.
When we checked in to the Acala the staff were warm and welcoming (who isn’t in Bali?) and we felt immediately relaxed in the comfortable surroundings. With our check in complete we were shown to our room.
The Acala has a small amount of rooms which makes it very intimate and personal, it feels like your somewhere special and unique. The room we stayed in was beautiful. It was light, airy and comfortable and offered spectacular views out to the Bali sea and the neighboring islands of Ceningan and Penida.
From our room it was only a short walk down through beautifully cared for gardens and landscaping to get to the restaurant and infinity pool. And what a pool it was.
The whole resort cascades down the hillside and the pool sits at the bottom, perched high above the ground and turquoise waters below. When your in the pool the view is immense. We spent most of the afternoon there and would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the sun starting to head down. You can relax in this pool and never tire of the views that it provides. Small boats snaking there way in and out of the inlet. Crystal clear tropical waters and smoke rising over Nusa Ceningan as children fly their kites on the banks of the water is beautiful to see. It’s such a peaceful relaxing place to wile away a few hours.
As night came we got ourselves ready for dinner and headed down to the restaurant.
The restaurant is cosy and intimate. Again that Bali style welcomes you in and makes you feel like your somewhere special. Candle lit tables and colourful hand crafted lights give it a great ambiance. It’s all very relaxed yet stylish.
It didn’t take us long to pick from the menu. Some spring rolls and a ceasar salad was a great start to our meal. The spring rolls were crisp and light and the salad was crunchy and fresh, both were beautiful. The main course was even better. Juicy, fall of the bone succulent ribs covered in a delicious sauce and chicken stuffed with blue cheese. The portions for the meal were great as well. You weren’t left hungry and at the same time you didn’t feel bloated either, just that nice amount that leaves you nicely satisfied.
With dinner over we relaxed in the comfort of our room for the rest of the night. The bed was huge and ever so comfortable and the room was a great place to chill out and spend some time in.
The following morning we enjoyed a great breakfast of Nasi Goreng at the restaurant before reluctantly packing our bags up to move on. We wish we could have stayed there much longer as it’s such a relaxing place to spend some time but we needed to move on.
We cant thank the staff enough for the wonderful experience at The Acala and we hope to return again soon to enjoy more of the amazing Balinese hospitality on offer. If your ever in Lembongan check The Acala out, it’s a great place to spend some quality relaxation time. You wont regret it.
